Jesse Welles
August 19 | Val Air Ballroom, West Des Moines
With an unprecedented run of new music — and four Grammy nominations to show for it — Jesse Welles brings his extensive folk rock catalog to Iowa. Ratboys, an indie rock band out of Chicago, will open.
Ingersoll LIVE
August 29 | Ingersoll Avenue, Des Moines
For the second straight year, Studio One is hosting a stage of live, local music in its own backyard at the biggest neighborhood block party of the summer. Rutabaga, Younger and 28 Days Later will play the Studio One Stage starting at 5 p.m.
Pokey LaFarge
September 13 | Wooly's, Des Moines
Pokey LaFarge and his band take the Wooly's stage to play the twanging guitars, plucky rhythms, and undeniably captivating melodies of the new album, Rent Money. Cicada Rhythm opens the show with their blend of Southern soul and indie folk.
Dickie
September 17 | Stoner Theater, Des Moines
Des Moines’ own Dickie opens the the Made in the Midwest Series. His indie rock anthems have made him a local favorite for years. Cedar Valley mainstay Joel Sires opens for Dickie with his folksy, singer-songwriter style.
Bleachers
September 25 | Vibrant Music Hall, Waukee
Jack Antonoff is bringing his band to Vibrant Music Hall on Friday, September 25. The "Bleachers Forever" tour is in support of their new album, Everything for Ten Minutes. Alternative band This Is Lorelei opens what is sure to be one of this year's best rock shows.

September 29 | Gabe's, Iowa City
This Minneapolis band takes their inspiration from J.R.R. Tolkien, Hayao Miyazaki, Slowdive, and the Cocteau Twins, making what they describe as “moss music.” You'll experience a musical and visual world defined by dreamy fantasy, emotional openness and sonic depth.
Mon Rovia
September 30 | Wooly's, Des Moines
Liberian-born singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mon Rovia takes his many talents to the stage at Wooly's on the Bloodline Tour. Sydney Rose and Sarah Julia open.
The War and Treaty
October 14 | The Englert Theatre, Iowa City
Soulful duo The War And Treaty have released music that continues to elevate them beyond beloved industry favorites, performing stages worldwide. The Grammy-nominated husband-and-wife duo hit The Englert with their latest collection of music this fall.
Tae & The Neighborly
October 15 | Stoner Theater, Des Moines
The soul pop collective from Wisconsin come to town for the Made in the Midwest series. Des Moines indie rockers Rutabaga will open.
Thundercat
October 26 | Val Air Ballroom, West Des Moines
The Distracted AF Tour makes a stop at historic Val Air Ballroom. Thundercat headlines with support from TiaCorine. Look forward to new material from Distracted, Thundercat's fifth album, which dropped in April.
REZN
October 31 | Gabe's, Iowa City
The Chicago quartet mixes metal and psychedelic rock. Their newest album, Cycles in the Infinite Dream, is their most psychotropic music to date.
Neko Case
November 1 | The Englert Theatre, Iowa City
Neko Case kicks off the Iowa City Songwriters Festival, with what may be the best album in her acclaimed catalog. Neon Grey Midnight Green is the Grammy-nominated musician's biggest-sounding and most intimate-feeling music yet.
Iowa City Songwriters Festival
November 5–7 | Iowa City
Back for a second year, Iowa City Songwriters Festival is a deep dive into the craft of songwriting. Over three days at various locations around Iowa City, the festival offers intimate performances, interviews, panel discussions, and community building. Craig Finn is the artist in residence. Lucinda Williams, Hooray for the Riff Raff, Bill Calahan and more perform.
NOLA Jazz Band Quartet
November 7 | Stoner Theater, Des Moines
Des Moines jazz fans may recognize NOLA Jazz Band Quartet from their many appearances at Noce. Their classic, smooth jazz sensibilities are a perfect fit for the lounge-inspired Stoner Theater — freshly redesigned for Made in the Midwest this year.
GreanTTea & The Tempos
November 14 | Stoner Theater, Des Moines
This neo-soul group from Chicago brings their alternative funk to the Made in the Midwest series. Two of the group's backup singers will pull double duty and open the show as Indi & MK.
MoonShroom
December 3 | Stoner Theater, Des Moines
MoonShroom is a Kansas City husband-and-wife team who play psychedelic bluegrass and Americana music. Des Moines-based roots singer-songwriter Casey Joe Collins opens the final installment in the Made in the Midwest series.
