Anthony Scanga
Digital Music ProducerHi! I'm Anthony Scanga, Digital Music Producer.
I'm responsible for anything you see from us digitally — from our website to our Instagram to our newsletter and beyond. I also work with music labels and artists, coordinating interviews, photo shoots and video sessions to connect you with the artists you love now (and those you will soon).
I'm always looking to bring you what's happening in the music scene across Iowa and the country, so even if you can't be at that huge concert, you aren't missing out.
Who should we interview next? Lemme know!
My music industry and media experience:
- Covered and toured with music and musicians across the United States including Slipknot, Bruce Springsteen and Cypress Hill
- Covered music festivals including Pitchfork Fest, Download Festival, Wacken Open Air, Hinterland, Rock Fest, Rock am Ring and Knotfest
- Produced multiple music videos under the Warner Music umbrella
- Photography features in Times Square as part of Spotify's New Music Friday showcase
- Photography features in Rolling Stone, Spin magazine, Guitar World magazine and Kerrang!
My favorite Iowa music destinations:
- Val-Air Ballroom in Des Moines
- xBk Live in Des Moines
- Hoyt Sherman Place in Des Moines
My entries in the "best songs of all time" list:
- "Heroes" by David Bowie — This is possibly the most epic song of all time. Plus it channels a feeling of hope everlasting!
- "Twin Peaks Theme" by Angelo Badalamenti — I love the show and the theme song always manages to transport me to a different place.
- "Gimme Shelter" by The Rolling Stones — You can’t beat this one. This is arguably The Rolling Stones at the peak of their powers. They never sounded more in touch and powerful than they did with this song.
My top three favorite albums (as of today):
- Remain in Light by Talking Heads
- Rage Against the Machine by Rage Against the Machine
- Illmatic by Nas
