Tony Dehner
Music DirectorHey there! I'm Tony Dehner, Music Director.
I'm responsible for scheduling and managing all the music you hear on-air. I'm also Studio One's connection the music label representatives, and keep a close eye on what's new and about to drop from the artists you love (and those you will).
From the time you wake up to when you fall asleep, my goal is to make sure you hear a great mix of curated music.
I love hearing from fans when you discover something new, whether it's brand new music or something that's been out for decades. It's never too late to discover something you'll love forever.
Drop me a note with your music recommendations!
My favorite Iowa music destinations:
- Octopus in Cedar Falls
- Englert Theatre in Iowa City
- Codfish Hollow in Maquoketa
My entries in the "best songs of all time" list:
- "A Day In The Life" by The Beatles — It's hard to believe it's basically two separate song ideas that were mashed together. It's so perfect!
- "Little Wing" by Jimi Hendrix — The song has his classic sound but also feels like visiting another planet.
- "One Big Holiday" by My Morning Jacket — I hope I get to hear this one live some day.
My top three favorite albums (as of today):
- Summerteeth, from Wilco
- A Deeper Understanding, from The War on Drugs
- Blonde On Blonde, Bob Dylan
